The perfect condolence card... from a scammer

I came across this card in a random image search I was doing on the topic of sympathy cards. I was impressed by the brevity and apparent sincerity of the message. I thought it was a good example of what you should write to a friend who has been bereaved.

But then I took the time to read the article it was attached to. The person who sent the card was one of those human leeches who make them selves rich whilst feeding on the vulnerability of gullible people. The person who was conned wasn't stupid, but she was fooled for quite some time by a master manipulator. He seemed legitimate and expressed all the right words, but he was a predator.

I was taken in by the card above, so how was she to recognise him as a con artist? You can read the article here: http://www.thomaswictor.com/my-two-favorite-con-artists-2/
